Good Day With a Good Bible Study

Posted by LaMoin on January 28, 2013 at 6:30 AM

We went to the offices of one of our church members this morning where Pastor Berens always has a Bible study on Mondays with the employees.  Bill taught today on John 3 and I Corinthians 6:19,20.  Among those present was a Hindu, a Muslim, and a Catholic.  After the Bible study was over, the member treated us to breakfast.

We left the Bible study and went to look at some buildings that would be good for the church to purchase.  We found one that would be great, but ...

Great Church Service and Fellowship

Posted by LaMoin on January 28, 2013 at 6:30 AM

We are still suffering from jet lag, but it is getting better. We arrived at midnight on Thursday, and since Tuesday morning at 2:00 a.m. until Thursday night, I slept about 7 hours. On Thursday night I felt like a dead woman walking. I am still waking up at 3 or 4 in the mornings, but at least I am feeling better.

I have had major frustrations with the Internet service here. It is the worst that I have ever experienced in Bali – and that means “Bad.” Really bad. The s...

Our Trip to Bali

Posted by LaMoin on January 26, 2013 at 7:15 AM

I always dread the long trip to Bali, and this time was no different.  I especially dreaded the 6:40 a.m. flight from Knoxville, but to get the best price on tickets, I had to accept theunforgiveable departure and arrival times.

My daughter, Shaleen, and her family took us to Knoxville.  After we had dinner, they dropped us off at the hotel near the a...

I Have Cut the Apron Strings

Posted by LaMoin on October 17, 2012 at 9:40 AM

You know, a book is very much like a child. A mother gives birth, loves it, nurses it, coddles it, mends its wounds, watches it grow, tries to correct its imperfections, prays over it, tries to shape its future, etc. - but there comes that sad day when the book must leave home. With great anticipation, fear, apprehension, joy, sadness, and prayer - a mother must cut the apron strings, realizing that she has done all in her power to mold it, kiss it goodbye, and let it...

I Gasped for Air

Posted by LaMoin on August 6, 2012 at 2:20 PM

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to walk through an automatic car wash? I know that might sound crazy. I guess my mind operates differently sometimes, but I have wondered about it, as I have sat in the car while it was moving through the wash. I have thought, “What if something happened, and I had to walk out of here.” Go ahead – laugh at me. Well, I experienced something similar to being in a car wash – without the car!

This past month, we visited with ...

Holy Spirit Controlled Anger

Posted by LaMoin on July 18, 2012 at 7:25 AM

Days like today sure proves to me that I am saved!!

My daughter-in-law is away on a business trip and we are staying with our son and grandkids.  They have a nanny who comes during the day.  She has gotten on my nerves in the past, but today she stepped on the last one!  She took the boys to an amusement place today - planning to be gone all day.  Just before noon, Hunter (6) came through the back door and headed str...

Visiting with the Grandkids

Posted by LaMoin on July 16, 2012 at 9:55 AM

Today is a beautiful, sunny day in St. Louis, and we are visiting with our son, Greg, his wife, Dawn, and our two grandkids, Hunter, 6 and Carter 5.  It has been one year since we saw them and the kids have grown so much.  I am thankful that I can have a few days with them.

We received a letter from Pastor Berens in Bali.  He has asked for help to purchase some hymnals for the church that we started in Jimbaran.  He h...

I am referring to my website - not Jesus! :)  I lost my domain for a lengthy time, but thanks to our friend, Bob Barron, it has been reclaimed and reactivated.

I hope you will join me often to take a peak at what is happening in Life With LaMoin.  I will be posting recent newsletters to try to play catch-up in what we have been doing over the past several months.

It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Christmas

Posted by LaMoin on December 8, 2010 at 8:21 AM

I have not felt the "Christmas Spirit" yet......I guess because of the trip, jet lag, etc.  However, I awoke yesterday morning and it was snowing and my husband had a Christmas CD playing, and suddenly I was into Christmas.  I have been battling jet lag.....exhausted.....but I received a spurt of energy, and I immediately started making plans to put up the Christmas tree.  We had to go through the snow to our storage shed at the back of the property and pull out all of the Chri...
